I am quickly re-reading books 1-5 to get ready; I am almost through CoS (that is still my least favorite of all of them).  Although, I am considering holding book 6 for a while so that I don't immediately devour it and then have to wait an eternity for book 6.  That being said, who am I kidding?  I will probably read the words straight off the pages within the first few moments I have the book in my hot little hands.

Yeah, I don't even know if I'll be able to contain myself from immediately scanning the whole book to find out who the half blood prince is, and then skipping immediately to the last paragraph. I hope I have the willpower to NOT do that, because every time I do that while reading a book, I wind up being sorry.

Wow.  You guys strategize about this stuff way more than I do.  Perhaps I'm just a simple soul, but I just pick up the book, open to page 1, and start reading to the end.  And then, of course, reread all the previous ones in order again, but that goes without saying....

Eight... days... left.

These last few days always drag by the slowest. The last 40 days passed like a flash, but these next seven are going to seem like another 40. What will we do?

A point each to dumbldor and I.

I'm moving out to Centreville. About 5 more miles from work, but probably another 20 minutes or so. This is not a good thing, except I'm hoping to end up being able to metro and so able to write or knit on the way.

Wow, that sucks, Ping. You should move out here to Washington. It's beautiful here, and, at least where I am, not so busy.

Oh, 4 days! I feel like it's the final countdown for a spaceship launch or something. Here, I'll make it more official: T-Minus 4 days!

Ahh! Sorry about the serious point-neglect here. I've been forgetting to award points due to all the excitement.

It looks like 4 points for Cho, 1 for Christine, and 1 for me.

Are we going to do an hourly countdown tomorrow?  I think someone mentioned it a while ago.

Hmm, actually, I am not quite sure how to award points for the hourly countdown. I guess the best way would be to just... not. Because I wouldn't know what time zone to use, and all that jazz that is just too much for my brain right now. So I guess I (and anyone else that wants to) will just post the time left whenever I'm so antsy I can't stand it. That being said... I still have 26 hours, 32 minutes until I get the book. *whimper*

It's now 1 hour and 20 minutes here! I have to wait until tomorrow morning though, because I ordered it from Amazon.

This is the last day I will have 5 Harry Potter books on my bookshelf. Wow.

9 hours 19 minutes here.

I just finished making my plans for tonight. A friend and I are dressing up in costume. She's going as Luna Lovegood, and I'm going as Professor Trelawney. We're going to see Willy Wonka beforehand, in costume. And then we're going to dinner, in costume. And then we'll head down to the bookstore at about 10:30 to wait for the midnight release. I've been getting my costume together, and I might post pictures in the gallery later. I'm wearing like a million mardi gras beads, curling my hair, I have this long sparkly dress, I got some huge glasses to wear, and I'm going to carry a crystal ball. What great good fun!

5 hours, 19 minutes here!

Now I'm totally excited.  I just got back from my Barnes and Noble, because they started handing out wristbands for the book at 6 even though the party doesn't start until 9.  Anyway, I got wristband number 8.  Eight!

Plus, my mom finally relented and said I could dress up (she initially refused).  So now I have to go work out my costume.  I'm going to go as one of the Hufflepuffs, but I haven't decided which yet.
