We'll see how long I can last this time. November is National Novel Writing Month, so if I'm not here, I'll be trying to type out 50k approximately coherent words in less than 30 days. So we'll see if I survive.

Just reminding that it's November the 1st, and not to forget that today the tournament's supposed to start. I don't know what the time difference between me and Heather is, so I won't get grouchy...yet >:D

Everyone who is interested in competing, you can start PMing me for your "test" starting Friday.  The last day to request your test will be Thursday.  I am going to be in trial Monday-Tuesday, so be patient if you request your test on those days.

Hope it's not to late to sign up, as I just signed on this board.  *pulls out a quill and ink, furiously scribbles name, and tosses it in the goblet.  Waits with crossed fingers*

In that case, I'm re-signing up. I've given up on Nano already, and *glances at point hourglasses* I need to try and fix that, too. If you know what I mean.

Sorry for the confusion.

Attention Triwizard Applicants:

The Tournament is still on, with a slight change of plans.

Heather is super-duper busy with RL, so she has asked me for help running the Triwizard tournament. The procedure goes like this.

Starting Monday, December 13, you may PM me for tests. You will have 24 hours from the time I give you the question in which to PM me the answer to your tests. The last day to request tests will be Friday, December 17. Results will be posted here Saturday, December 18, or when the last applicant has given me his/her answer.

Remember, applicants: No outside help of any kind is allowed. All answers to questions must be solely your own work.

Good luck to all!

Just a friendly reminder: tomorrow is the last day to request your tests. So far I have only received four requests and of those, three have answered. (Xan, Ping, Kelpie, and Morrin are the requests I received)

Also remember that if you do not participate in this round, you may not advance to the next round.

Results of the First Round

The task this round was to name the captain of the only all-female national Quidditch Team. Three Champions correctly identified Gwenog Jones, the captain of the Holyhead Harpies. These three, earning ten points apiece in the tournament standings are

Ping
Xan
Kelpie

One other champion requested her test, but never gave an answer. Due to the shortage of requests I received, I am going to allow her to continue to the next round, but, she earns no points toward the tournament. This Champion was

Morrin

I am going to schedule an extension during the next round, because I know a lot of you are probably busy with Christmas so near (and I'm no exception! ^_^) so these four people will be allowed to PM me for the next round of tests starting tomorrow, Monday, December 20, but will be allowed to PM for tests going up until the following Tuesday, December 28. Hopefully that lets you go around your Christmas schedule. If there are any problems with these dates, let me know and we can work something out.

ATTENTION CHAMPIONS:

Due to my own (incredibly crazy) schedule, I am extending the test by two (2) more days. Therefore, you may request tests going up until Thursday, December 30. I will post results on January 1st, 2005, or when all champions have answered their questions, whichever comes first. Sorry about the delay, but things are just crazy-go-nuts, and I'm not sure how quickly I will be able to get tests out. Therefore, I suggest sending me your requests as soon as you can find the time, and I'll do my best to get them too you as timely as possible.

Hope everyone's holidays are going splendidly!

Results of the Triwizard Tournament, Round Two:
Well, there isn't much to report. Both champions that participated correctly answered the following question:

In terms of latitude and longitude, give the approximate location of the fortress of Azkaban. All answers must be in the form X degrees north/south, Y degrees east/west.

Both

Ping
and
Xan

got the answers exactly right. The question was worth ten points for each coordinate, so both champions earned twenty points. Thus, the standings are as follows:

Ping: 30 points
Xan: 30 points
Kelpie: 10 points
Morrin: 0 points

Unfortunately, I have no choice but to disqualify half of our champions for non-participation. Our two remaining champions (Ping and Xan) may PM me for third round tests starting on January 1, 2005 (tomorrow!) and going up until January 6.
