Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl
« on: June 15, 2004, 04:35:24 PM »

For those of you who want to know the story of Morgan Granger.

Here's the first part. Hope you all like it!

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl
by Morgan

Harry grumbled under his breath as he clambored down the stairs early in the morning. It was Dudley's birthday...but even worse, his first day at the Ministry of Magic...

Dobby had appeared once again in Harry's room. Harry told him about how Dudley and his gang had been picking on him the day before. Before Harry could stop him, Dobby went into Dudley's room while Dudley was sleeping and used magic to make him wet the bed, as a little prank.

The Ministry of Magic pressed charges. Dumbledore was unable to once again weasle his way out of this one...so he was forced to punish him. Dumbledore pursuaded the Ministry to go somewhat easy on him, but his punishment Harry thought had to be the worst thing in the world...he was to be Percy's assisstant for 1 whole week. Doing WHATEVER Percy told him to do WHENEVER he asked him to do it. Now, everyone know's what Percy's like...and since he hates Harry, because of past issues, Percy made him do all of his errands.

He, fortunately, was allowed to spend the evenings in the burrow.

"I feel sorry for ya, mate, this has to be the worst punishment ever!" Ron had told him the evening before Harry's first day.

Percy was one of the worst bosses Harry had ever had - okay, so he was the only boss Harry had ever had, but it didn't make any difference! Percy made Harry run all of his errands - buisness related & personal - like getting his lunch, going to the copy room, sending his owls, and so forth. However, by running Percy's errands, Harry was able to keep up on the latest wizard news, something he was unable to do on Privet Drive. One day, when Harry was sent to the Copy-Room, while Harry was waiting in line, he overheard a couple of wizards not too far behind him...

"...So, where's she from again?"

"The US. She's going to live with her Grandma. Her parents were Aurors, before they moved, anyway...supposedly You-Know-Who was out to get her parents...since they were involved in..." the man got really quite, "the Order of the Phoenix. They were the spies 16 years ago."

"Really? I thought I heard about that...what's her name?"

"Her name's Morgan. Her parents have been in hiding for the past 16 years, but now she's coming," he reduced his voice to a whisper again, "to Hogwarts."

Harry didn't get to listen to the rest of the conversation, because Madam Urul had squeaked, "How may I help you today, Mr. Potter?"

"Huh?" Harry had said in shock, "Oh, yeah, I was wondering if you could make 4 copies of these," he handed her a stack of papers, "for Percy Weasley."

With a wave of her wand, where there once was one stack of papers, was 5 different stacks, paperclipped and arranged in a pile. Harry grabbed it and headed back towards Percy's office.

For Maddie, the one who gave me the idea to write this fanfic!
Here's Part 2. Hope you like!  ;)

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 2

Later that evening, safe inside the walls of the Burrow, Harry told Ron about what he had heard in the Copy Room. After he had finished, Ron's face had gone completely white.

"You don't think...she can't possibly be...she...she...she CAN'T BE!" Ron shouted, dumbstruck.

"What are you talking about, Ron? Do you know...uh...something that I don't?"

"Well," Ron explained, "Last year, Hermione and I were stuck up in Grimmauld Place for at least a month or two. Anyway, one day I asked her if she knew how she got magic in her blood...it's gotta come from somewhere after all! She told me about her Aunt & Uncle Granger. They were both Aurors and worked for the original Order. However, You-Know-Who..."

"You know," Harry blurted out, "Fear of the name only causes fear of the thing itself! Hermione's always reminding you of that!"

"Alright...L-lord...V-voldemort sent Lucious Malfoy, who at the time was a worthy supporter of him, to find any Aurors who could be useful to him, and report back. Well, he was on his way to report about the...." he whispered hoarsely, "Longbottoms when he saw something unusual. A couple walked up a sidewalk heading towards a plot of grass and they sort of disappeared into thin air.

"The couple was Mr. and Mrs. Granger - not Hermiones' parents, her Aunt & Uncle. Lucious began to walk up to the plot of grass, since he was supicious of a wee little magic trick...however, only those who were against Lord V-voldemort could walk through the barrier...Lucious hit a wall and stumbled backwards. He reported the unusual event to V-voldemort and V-voldemort watched the place. He saw Aurors coming and going. This was the Grangers' old house, also the old location for the Order..."

"You mean, Lord Voldemort was sitting right across the street and they didn't even see him?!?" Harry blurted once again.

"Well, he's a powerful wizard Harry, and he had more than likely placed enchantments around himself, and they never really looked over there...Mad-Eye suspected this of course. Voldemort eventually cornered the Grangers as they exited the house late one evening. The Grangers, somehow, managed to escape..."

"What are you two doing?" asked Mrs. Weasley as she had entered, "Supper's ready, what's taking you so long, go wash up!"

Not wanting to be questioned any further, they went and washed up, not continuing their earlier conversation.

For Lauren Weasley, who told me about Hogsmeade.

Ah, Part 3! This part gets rather interesting if I don't say so myself!

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 3

As Harry came downstairs into the Dining Room, he realised that there seemed to be...a party. There were balloons around the walls,
and there were lots more people than just the Weasleys. Harry noticed everyone he knew except for his Professors and Percy...

"Hey Harry! Congrats!" Lupin called.

"Argh...Good Job," grumbled Moody.

Harry walked over to Mrs. Weasley who was talking in deep conversation to Tonks, "Mrs. Weasley, may I...."

But Mrs. Weasley didn't even seem to notice he was there. She kept talking, "...she can't be here next WEEK! Why, the Death
Eaters will eat her alive by then...and we all know hiding won't do any good."

"But she's not going to be hiding, she'll be in her Grandmother's house!" Tonks insisted.

"Tonks, sorry to interrupt you and Mum but I think Harry needs to talk to mum, isn't that right Harry?" Ron broke in.

Both Tonks and Mrs. Weasley whirled around, as they hadn't any idea that Harry was standing right behind them. "Oh, Harry, so do
you...uh...like your decorations?"

"Well, that's just what I wanted to ask you...uh...what's going on?"

"Well, don't you know what happens in your 6th year?"

"Apparation tests...and that's about all I can think of."

"Well, you see...uh..." Mrs. Weasley gulped and looked towards Tonks for help.

Tonks looked over, "Harry, you're going to be getting a new student at Hogwarts."

"Morgan Granger?" Harry asked.

"Uh...I see someone's already told you..." Tonks replied, dumbfounded.

"But...what's that got to do with Ron & I?"

"It doesn't have anything to do with you two...Molly, what have you told them?"

"Nothing, I just told them to wash up and come down and join us...I never told them they were guests of honor or anything..."

"Huh?" Harry and Ron blurted, dumbstruck.

"Well, you see, Morgan Granger is Hermione's...cousin. And this party's for...Hermione, not either of you, you're just guests, as the
rest of us are. As a matter of fact...I think that's Hermione now..."

The door opened and everyone grew very quite. Hermione stepped into the room along with her parents, and followed behind them a
couple of people...one looked like a girl about 11, with blonde hair and hazel eyes. There was also an older lady who looked like she
was weathered with age.

"Harry, Ron!" Hermione ran over to both of them. She hugged Harry...and Ron. They looked rather awkward doing it...as they'd never
even done more than shake hands before. She took one of Harry's hands and one of Ron's hands and pulled them forward. "I want
you both to meet my cousin...Morgan!"

The girl named Morgan nodded her head. "Nice to meet both of you." She held out her hand. Harry & Ron both shook it.

"Morgan's going to be a first year! We're going to have LOTS of fun!" Hermione remarked. "But tonight, I think we ought to just go get
something to eat."

Hermione walked with Morgan into the other room. Then the whole house echoed with, "SURPRISE!!!" Morgan looked like she was
going to faint, Hermione looked a little dazed.

"Why, this is rather sweet of you all!" said the lady whom Harry guessed to be Morgan's grandma, "Now Morgan, the foods over there
on the counter. You've had a long trip, so why don't you run along and get something to eat now?"

Morgan walked gingerly over to the counter and dished out some Chicken Heads & Frogs Legs soup. She took a rather large bite,
unaware of what she was eating. Suddenly, her face turned purple. "Uh, what is this stuff?"

Her Grandma walked over and sniffed the bowl, "Chicken Heads and Frog Legs Soup."

Morgan eyed her Grandma, at first suspiciously, then with tears forming in her eyes. "Grandma," she whispered, "Do I have to eat this
stuff?"

"Hmm...just put your mouth down lower to act like your eating it...okay?"

After about 2 minutes of faking to be enjoying it, the soup seemed to disappear. Then Harry noticed the wand behind her Grandma's
back. He also noticed the soup rolling down the window nearest him. "Hermione," Harry whispered, and he nodded to the window.
Hermione did a spell and it flew to the ground.

"Now, everyone," said Hermione's father, "I think little Morgan needs to get some rest, as it has been a long day for her."

"Oh, of course, Mr. Granger!" Mrs. Weasley said, "I'll show her the way..."

Harry Potter and Golden Snitch Girl - Part 4
« Reply #3 on: June 17, 2004, 02:10:14 PM »

For my real mum, who gave me an interesting life to live, even if I can't be a witch...

In Part 4, Morgan shows her true self, at least, I think so...of course, the story often depends upon my mood on that day...

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 4

The following day Harry woke rather earlier than normal and noticed Morgan sitting at the edge of his bed. He reached over and put on his glasses.

"Can I help you Morgan?" he whispered.

"Harry, I had a dream..." Morgan whispered, "And...and...Voldemort's getting stronger..."

Could there possibly be another person in the world like him? Harry wondered... No, surely not, she was much to young to remember Voldemort...wasn't she? Did...did she have the same dream as Harry...Harry tried to recall the feeling of Voldemort laughing...if only he had tried harder at Occumulency...

"Was he laughing, Morgan?" Harry asked.

"Yes, and he..he...he said that..." Morgan shuddered, "That a Granger had walked right into his trap... Harry...I think he was talking about...me...and that's why I came to you...your the only one who knows this kind of stuff..."

"Morgan," Harry explained, "There's only one person who can really tell you about this stuff...and it's Albus Dumbledore...the only trick is to find out how to get to Hogwarts before the term begins...but we can't worry about that till morning...now, why don't you go up to bed, and we can discuss this further in the morning?"

"Okay..." Morgan said sulkily as she walked out of the room and up the stairs.

The following morning, Harry was planning to find Hagrid or another Hogwarts teacher in Diagan Alley and tell them about little Morgan's dream...but he never found anyone...however, he did find....

"Ron, and I can take Morgan to Ollivanders," Harry told Mrs. Weasley, Ginny, Hermione, and Mrs. Granger (Morgan's Grandmother).

"Alright, dears, we'll be waiting in Flourish & Blotts," replied Mrs. Weasley.

"Harry," Mrs. Granger confronted him, "Be very careful...I hope you do know that the Dark Lord is after any Granger he can find - including me, but he doesn't know much about me - don't let Morgan out of your site, I'm trusting you Harry..."

But a big crowd walked by and Harry did not hear the rest of what Mrs. Granger had to say. "Come on, you guys," chiped in Morgan.

They walked into Ollivanders and saw Mr. Ollivander helping a short boy, who looked feverishly familiar...the boy turned around.

"Harry!" came the voice of none other than Collin Creevey, a fellow Gryffindor.

"Uh, what are you doing here, Collin?" Harry asked, impatiently.

"My wand broke over the summer, so I've come to get a new one," Collin explained, "Why are you here Harry? Did your wand break too?"

"No, I've come to help Morgan get her first wand," Harry said as he nodded towards Morgan at his side.

"Oh," said Collin, "Well, I'll see you soon, Harry, and Harry's friends."

As soon as he had left, Ron said, "I'm just Harry's friend now, am I?"

"Ron," comforted Harry, "You know he's just like too big of a fan of mine...although I've never understood why..."

Harry never got to finish his sentence, because Mr. Ollivander appeared, "Harry! Ron! Good to see you both. Ah, a little one, come on up here now. What might your name be? Let me guess...are you a," Mr. Ollivander lowered his voice, "Granger? Jeremy and Liz's daughter, I presume?"

"Yes," Harry heard Morgan reply quietly.

"Well, you'll be needing a wand," said Mr. Ollivander, "Hmm...try this one...1 hair of a hippogriff core."

Morgan gave it a wave, and the cash register sprung open and all the Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts flew out. "Oh dear," said Mr. Ollivander. He waved his own wand and it fixed itself, "How about this one...1 feather of a...Phoenix...I wonder..."

Morgan waved the second wand and maroon and gold sparks flew out of it. "Why, wonderful!" clapped Mr. Ollivander, "Indeed, that is your wand! Now, let me wrap it..."

"Mr. Ollivander, earlier you were wondering about something, what was it?" Morgan asked.

"Well, Morgan," began Mr. Ollivander, "As Harry or Ron could tell you, I remember every wand that I make. And it just so happens to be that the sister to this wand belongs to none other than Hermione Granger, your cousin. She is a brilliant wizard..."

Harry glanced sideways at Ron who was listening just as intently as him, "...and of course, I have only made 4 wands with Phoenix cores in them. 2 came from a Phoenix named Crystal, who belongs to Hailey Autumn, a wonderful wizard, and a great Auror at that! Then there's 2 feathers that came from Fawkes, Professor Dumbledore's , the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Phoenix. Those two wands belong to none other than He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and it's brother wand belongs to," Mr. Ollivander beckoned at Harry, "Harry Potter..."

Once they had left the shop, Ron was staring at him. "What?" Harry asked.

"You never told me," Ron said in a tad bit quiter voice, "That your brother wand belongs to...You-Know-Who!!!"

"Well, I didn't think it was...that important..." explained Harry.

Morgan was walking alongside them, holding her wand... "I wonder what I'll be able to do with this wand..."

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 5
« Reply #4 on: June 17, 2004, 04:38:56 PM »

For J.K. Rowling, who gave me the guts to write about true magic from within.  ;)

Finally, we'll all get to see Hogwarts once again! Maybe Morgan will explain a little more about herself on the train...  ;D

Quick Note: Halfway through this story, the point of view changes from Harry's to Morgans, where it has the *s. Just thought I'd clear that up...  ;D

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 5

The following week was rather fast. They spent it at the Burrow and just relaxed a little bit more. Ron didn't speak to Harry much, he was looking at him oddly, sort of like he did when everyone thought Harry was the Heir of Slytherin. Hermione didn't know about Harry's wand, nor that Morgan had her sister wand...which was probably a good thing.

On the morning beforehand, everyone was packing there things, Harry noticed Morgan had a broom. "First years aren't allowed to have brooms, you know," Harry told Morgan.

"Not for everyone," she replied, but Harry didn't seem to notice she was smiling, his attention had been upon Pigwidgeon.

"Come on Pig," Ron was coaxing to Pigwidgeon, "Get in your cage!"

The owl was simply refusing to get in. "Here," said Hermione, "Let me help you." Hermione walked over to the cage, and Pigwidgeon gleefully went into the cage just as Hermione beckoned to him.

"I could've done that myself you know," Ron said.

"I know," Hermione replied, "I was just helping you, you're the one who did it, after all..."

"What?" Ron gasped, but Hermione was already downstairs, "Wonder what's up with her..."

Harry shrugged and walked downstairs. Mr. Weasley carried down their trunks. "There you go, troops," he said.

Once again, the Weasleys had gotten cars from the Ministry to drive to Kings Cross.

Surprisingly, Morgan already knew how to get through the barrier, because before any of them could tell her what to do, she was running right between platforms 9 & 10 and went directly through the barrier.

Ginny & Hermione went next. Then Mr. Weasley. Then Ron & Harry, then Mrs. Weasley & Mrs. Granger.

On the train, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Morgan were all in one area.

"So, Morgan," asked Ginny, "You've never really told us about your...family."

"Well," Morgan whispered, "I thought my entire family, me, mum, and dad, were all Muggles, however, I didn't know about Witchcraft or any of that stuff...I just thought I was a normal girl. Grandmother was the one who told me all about everything...she told me about how mom and dad nearly got killed by...by..." she looked over at Harry, and when he nodded, she continued, "Lord Voldemort."

Ron & Ginny both gasped. "You...you said You-Know-Who's name..." Ginny commented.

"Fear of a name only causes more fear of the thing itself, Ginny," Hermione replied before Morgan got a chance, "How many times do I have to tell you?"

Ginny looked down at her hands, which were somewhat shaking. "That was...16 years ago...2 months before Harry was born. Of course, they were in the Order, and when they pleaded to Dumbledore to go into hiding, when he let them, they had to change the place to hold meetings for the Order. You remember that picture Mad-Eye showed you of the original order, Harry?"

"How'd you..." Harry began, but before he could say anything more, she cut him off.

"Never mind how I found out, but, my Mother and Father were not in that picture...because they had already fled to safety, out of Britain. They decided to go to USA, as it wasn't as wizard-populated as Europe. They decided to go to a small town in Nebraska - Nebraska is a big state, but has very little population, so that way they were in a country with tons of people, but they made sure they were in a small town where they were sure not to be recognized - Chambers was perfect, the nearest wizard was in Lincoln, but there were only two, and they certainly couldn't harm them, as 1 was a Squib, and the other rarely used magic. Mom and Dad wanted me to have a normal childhood - mainly because they didn't want me to get involved in magic before I had to. They wanted me to go to Hogwarts of course, and learn magic, but they wanted to keep me safe for as long as possible. Even being in Chambers, Nebraska, they felt they still weren't safe, so they decided to use a secret keeper. I'm not allowed to tell who that is, as grandma...well," Morgan reduced her voice to a hoarse whisper, "says we're still not safe, but of course, she trusts all of you..."

For the rest of the trip, the conversation stayed away from Morgan, as she just looked out the window. She only looked away to politely refuse any food...

"Firs' years! Firs' years over here please!" Hagrid called as the train stopped, "Hey Harry! So, how are ya?"

"Bye Morgan!" Hermione called as she walked over to Hagrid.

************************************************

"Morgan, why don't you come over in our boat?" called a couple of girls, who were giggling.

"Uh...okay," agreed Morgan.

"Hi, my name's Beth," said one of the girls, and she held out her hand, which Morgan shook.

The rest of the trip, Morgan was silent and gazed over at the lake, she didn't even bother to join in to the 'Oooh's and 'Ahhh's as they approached the castle.

Mrs. McGonnagall did her usual preparation speech and then led them into the Great Hall. Morgan glanced around and saw Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Ginny sitting at the Gryffindor table.

"Earl, Rhia"

The girl sat down and put on the raggedy old hat. After a couple of seconds the hat called out, "RAVENCLAW!"

Then there was "ZaCara, Beth"

Beth went and sat down on the stool and placed the hat on her head. Almost instantly, it called out, "GRYFFINDOR!"

Morgan grew nervous...then her name was called.

"Granger, Morgan"

Morgan walked up to the hat, sat on the stool and put on the hat.

"Hmm...let see, you are quite smart, aren't you? Ravenclaw would help you there...but wait, you are brave, perhaps Gryffindor? You don't belong in Slytherin...happy you aren't there, are you? Well, you are quite friendly...too hard to decide, but I think I shall place you in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Morgan took of the hat, and walked, rather disappointed to the cheering Hufflepuff table.

That evening, Professor Flitwick came over to her. "Morgan, hey there dearie! I heard that your grandmother requested you to be Seeker on the house Quidditch team, as she's seen you play! Well, there's tryouts this evening for a new Seeker! I heard you had a broom..just bring that along, and go to the Locker Room in the West Wing, right before the Quidditch fields, alright?"

Morgan nodded, as she had expected this.

"Morgan!" Ginny came running up to her as she was leaving the Great Hall, "I heard your going to possibly be on your house Quidditch team?!? That's great! I'll probably be Chaser or Beater on my team this year. You're going to be a lot like Harry, except in Hufflepuff version!" Morgan only nodded, rather disappointed.

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 6
« Reply #5 on: June 17, 2004, 06:28:34 PM »

This one's for Nibbles, my puppy, cause he's always here for me.  ;D

Hmm...not much to say...I don't want to give anything away. Oh, but for those of you who are wondering, "Does this story ever end?", the answer is no, I'll add to it as life here in Hogsmeade goes on... :) It is, after all, my life.

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 6

The following evening Morgan had learned that to get to the Hufflepuff common room you had to go up the stairs and through a portrait of a Flamingo, what was weird, however, is that the flamingo...could talk...

"Password?" asked the Flamingo.

"HufflePunch," replied Morgan.

The portrait swung open and Morgan stepped through. She descended upwards towards the girls dormortories where all of her stuff was opened. Morgan lay down and stared up at the ceiling. She must have fallen asleep, because before she could realise what was going on, Quape, her owl was resting on her arm, and it was pure daylight out. Morgan sat up and untied the piece of parchment from her legs. Quape went and rested on her shoulder while Morgan read the letter. It read:

Dear Ms. Granger,
Be sure to report to the Quidditch field at 4 o'clock today for Quidditch tryouts. You may arrive earlier to practice.

Good Luck,
Angelina Young

"Thanks Quape. Now, go on to the Owlery!" Morgan scolded.

That evening as Morgan approached the fields, she realised that only Angelina was there.

"Morgan, glad you made! Unfortunately, our players can't come, and no-one else seems to want to try out - but that doesn't mean your automatically on the team," Angelina explained, "You still have to be pretty good. Now, you know all of the balls of course?"

"Yes," answered Morgan, "There's 2 Bludgers which often try to knock you off your broom. But if you have fair Beaters, you don't have to deal with them. There's also the Quaffle, which the Chasers and Keeper have to worry about. They use that to score, and stop the other team from scoring, of course. Then there is...the Snitch. The Seeker who catches it gets 150 points for their team and they win the match, usually...of course, in the Quidditch Cup 2 years ago, Krum got the Snitch, and Bulgaria still lost to Ireland."

"I see you know a fair amount," said Angelina, "Now, I'm going to let the Golden Snitch go, and we'll see how well you do when you see it. Now, get ready...set...GO!"

Angelina let the snitch go and Morgan rose up on her broom. The snitch disappeared. Morgan went all the way up above the goals on her Nimbus 2001. 2 minutes later, the Snitch reappeared, just feet above the ground.
Morgan zoomed down and caught it.

"Woah..." said Angelina, obviously impressed, "Uh...our next practice is next Monday, and our first match is against Gryffindor...you'll have to deal with Harry Potter...he's good as well, and he's got a Firebolt. Oh, the match is in 2 weeks....

The next 2 weeks went by quickly for Morgan. She didn't do much, except for think about the match and daze off in classes. Professor Snape didn't seem to care for her, but he left her alone because so many Ravenclaw students knew the answers.

The morning of the match against Gryffindor, Morgan was once again awoken by Quape bringing her a letter.

Dear Ms. Granger,
After the match today, please report to Professor Flitwick's office and she will take you to my office. Thank you, and good luck at your first match!

Sincerely,
Professor Dumbledore

"What does he want?" Morgan said aloud as she reread the letter...

Throughout the day, everyone was wishing her good luck for that evening. Morgan merely nodded every time to show her acknowledgement.

That evening in the locker room, Angelina was giving her team a warm-up speech.

"Now fellow Hufflepuffians, we need to beat Gryffindor to get a chance at getting near the Quidditch Cup this year. This is OUR year because all the other houses are getting several new faces, however, we only have one, and that's Morgan. As many of you know, this is my last year at Hogwarts, and I want to leave knowing I helped you guys win the Quidditch Cup. Now...let's BREAK!"

As they walked onto the field, Hufflepuffs and Slytherins cheered. Ravenclaws and Gryffindors, however, cheered for the Gryffindor team.

"Now," said Madame Hooch, "I want a clean game from ALL of you. Understand? Good. Captains, shake hands." Harry, the Gryffindor captain along with Angelina walked up to each other and shook hands politely.

They rose up. Harry and Morgan rose the highest above everyone else. Madame Hooch blew her whistle. Morgan didn't pay attention to what Hermione, the new spokesperson was saying, she didn't even watch the score. Morgan just watched for the snitch. Then she saw it - right behind Ginny's ponytail. Harry didn't see it until Morgan began to move. Morgan was in the lead...she was going to get it...then it disappeared. Ginny had seen both of them coming and rose higher to avoid getting hit. Morgan went downwards until she got control of her broom. Then she saw it again...at the bottem of the goal post. Morgan raced down....down..down...and...

"She's got the Snitch! That's 150 points for Hufflepuff!" commentated Hermione.

Morgan smiled as all of her Hufflepuff teamamates clambored near her to do a group hug.

After the match she told everyone she'd be back in the common room later, because Professor Dumbledore wanted to speak to her.

Morgan walked down to Professor Flitwick's office without meeting anyone on the way.

She knocked on the door. "Professor Flitwick?" Morgan called, "It's Morgan."

"Ah, Morgan," said Professor Flitwick, "Good job at the match tonight...too bad you won' t be around much longer..."

"Huh?" asked Morgan.

"Oh," remarked Professor Flitwick, "Don't worry, Professor Dumbledore will explain everything."

As they approached the statue which behind Professor Dumbledore's office lay, Professor Flitwick said, "Frozen Butterbeer."

The statue began to wind upward, making a staircase. Professor Flitwick led Morgan up the staircase, and out into the Hallway at the top. At the far end was a door. Professor Flitwick used the door knocker...

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 7
« Reply #6 on: June 18, 2004, 10:05:24 AM »

For Stacey & Eric who both always make me feel better.

Doubt they'll ever see this dedication though...anyway...Say Hello to Professor Dumbledore!!!

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 7

As the door opened, Professor Flitwick motioned for Morgan to step in, then the doors closed behind Morgan.

Morgan looked around, "Wow..." she whispered to herself.

"Like my office, Morgan?" asked Professor Dumbledore.

Morgan jumped. She didn't know she was being watched. When she became a tad bit more calm, she replied, "It's beautiful, but, Professor, why do you want to see me?"

"Well, Morgan," explained Professor Dumbledore, "You realise that the Sorting Hat is quite old. Every once and a while the Old Hat makes an old man's mistake...as I have done in the past. The Sorting Hat was telling me about you the other day, and I want you to put the hat on again, now sit down on that chair there and put the hat on." Professor Dumbledore motioned to the chair and the hat sitting on the sidetable.

Morgan slid into the chair a gently placed the hat over her head.

"So, wondering what you're doing back, eh? Well, let me explain...I think I made a mistake. You really don't belong in Hufflepuff you see, I have come to the realisation you aren't very happy there...I think you'll need to be place in...GRYFFINDOR!!!"

Morgan was smiling. She took of the hat and looked up at Professor Dumbledore. She said, "But Professor Dumbledore...what about the Quidditch match today? I...I won for Hufflepuff..."

"Ah, but Morgan," remarked Professor Dumbledore, "Do you really think Quidditch will matter if you get to be with your friends?"

"Oh...I guess not..." said Morgan, "Professor, another question, how am I going to get to the Gryffindor Common room?"

"Ah," said Professor Dumbledore, "This is where trust comes into effect. Professor Flitwick as brought down your trunk. Right outside my tower, your Prefect, Cho Chung, will lead you to your common room. The Hufflepuff Flamingo will be given a new password...and you are not to go finding the Hufflepuff Common Room...do you understand?"

"Yes, sir," Morgan replied.

"Good," Professor Dumbledore motioned, "Now, run along!"

Morgan hopped up from her seat and exited rather quickly. When she reached the bottom of the staircase, she saw a girl who she suspected was Cho Chung.

"Hello," said Cho, "Welcome to Gryffindor! Professor Dumbledore explained everything to me. Now, come along, we've got lots going on...we're going to celebrate our Quidditch Victory!"

"What?" asked Morgan.

"You see," Cho explained, "Professor Dumbledore didn't want you to be spoiled rotten, but he agreed that Gryffindor can have the Quidditch match win, but Hufflepuff gets the 100 house points for winning the match...but it won't stop us from the Quidditch Cup!"

Morgan grinned, and nodded. By the time she got to the Fat Lady and Cho said the password Golden Snitch, Morgan was half asleep. That night all she wanted to do was go to bed, but Hermione dragged her from person to person all around the room.

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 8
« Reply #7 on: June 18, 2004, 12:46:53 PM »

For Ping, Cho, and the rest of the administration on this board! You guys do a great job.  ;)

I don't have a real life...my life is devoted to creating a character on some online forum...  Anyway, this part is rather cool...with the Professor McGonagall stuff anyway...

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 8

Morgan slept pretty soundlessly that night, nothing could have awoken her...

The next morning Morgan rose early for Transfiguration with the rest of her new class. She had gotten a new schedule so she could be with her fellow Gryffindors...

"Good day, class," welcomed Professor McGonagall.

"Good day, Professor McGonagall," the class answered.

"Now, we have a new Gryffindor, so why don't we welcome Morgan?" pleaded Professor McGonagall.

"Welcome, Morgan," the class answered.

"Now class...today we're going to transfigure nails into paperclips..."

The rest of the class went by rather quickly. Morgan managed to turn her nail into a paperclip, but it was bent out, rather than being all curved.

"Morgan, I'd like to speak with you," called Professor McGonagall as Morgan began to leave the room, so Morgan turned around and walked up to Professor McGonagall's desk, "I want you to play Seeker on our house Quidditch team. Harry will move to Beater, as he's quite good in that area, and last night proved that you are far better, no matter what kind of broom you have."

"Thank you," replied Morgan, "But I'm not sure I want to do that to Harry...and I definately don't want to have to explain to him..."

"Morgan," said Professor McGonagall, "I'll handle that part. But I want you to do as well as, if not better than your mother."

"What?" questioned Morgan.

"Hasn't she, or anyone for that matter, told you about your mother's Hogwarts days?" asked Professor McGonagall.

"No," answered Morgan, "No one has."

"Ah," explained Professor McGonagall, "Well, the reason you were immediately put on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team wasn't because of you're grandmother's owl to Professor Dumbledore, it was because of your mother. You see Morgan, if you were to look in the Hogwarts Hall of Fame, you'd see your mother's listed 3 different times, for 3 different reasons. The first was because of her N.E.W.T. records, she had 11 NEWTs out of the possible 12. The second was for her Bravery...you see, she came face to face with Voldemort as well as Harry...2 times in fact, once as a 3rd year, and then once as an adult. The 3rd award was for her Quidditch playing. She played in every match from years 1 to 7, and each time she caught the Snitch...nothing failing that...Gryffindor won the Quidditch Cup each year. But something happened as a first year, you see, your mother was also sorted into Hufflepuff at first...but the sorting hat wanted to put her in Gryffindor after her 2nd Quidditch match...Dumbledore realised sooner that you were following your mothers footsteps of course...however, he doesn't want you to take the same path as her."

"Why?" asked Morgan.

But as the next class was coming in, Professor McGonagall simply said, "Morgan, you're a good student...don't give up. I want you to go to Herbology now. I have sent Professor Flitwick an owl."

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 9
« Reply #8 on: June 19, 2004, 03:38:09 PM »

For Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, who all portray their characters in such great detail.

Okay, I'm keeping my mouth shut today. You'll have to read this to find out anything.  ;) It's pretty short...sorry bout that.  ;)

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 9

Morgan tried to keep quiet the next few days, but she could see Professor McGonagall had already told Harry that he wasn't going to be Seeker, as Harry seemed to be trying to stay away from her. Morgan sighed.

"Harry," Morgan explained, "I didn't tell her to make me Seeker, she just told me Professor Dumbledore and her expect great things from me."

"I'm," Harry heaved, "not neccessarily mad at you, it's just that your life is perfect, Morgan. you've got a wonderful Mom, and you can easily follow in her footsteps. Likewise, everyone's always said my dad was great, but he...there were some bad qualities about him...he kind of did anything to attract my mom's attention...and he was somewhat of a bully..."

"Harry," Morgan cut in, "there's something I ought to tell you, and perhaps...perhaps you can explain it a little more to me."

"What?" questioned Harry.

"The other day," Morgan began, "When I was in Professor McGonagall's room, standing up near her desk, you know, well, she said something about Professor Dumbledore not wanting me to follow in my mom's shadow...before "it" happens again. Do you have any idea...at all...what she, and Professor Dumbledore of course, were referring to?"

"No," Harry replied, "I haven't any idea."

But there was something in Harry's tone of voice that told Morgan that there was something he knew, but either didn't want to, or was sworn not to tell. Or both...

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 10
« Reply #9 on: June 20, 2004, 06:56:24 PM »

For Ro, who encouraged me to continue.  ;)

I'm really tired...I can't come up with any brainy ideas, but hey! I'm working on it...  :D

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 10

Morgan went to bed early that night. As the next day she'd need lots of rest...she was going to search the library for anything on her mom...at any costs.

Morgan had set her alarm for 5:30, so she'd have 2 hours before breakfast. She hurriedly got dressed and left the Common Room towards the library.

Mrs. Norris came started purring and walked towards her.

"Mrs. Norris," Morgan shooed, "Get away! I'm not doing anything wrong!"

Morgan paced herself from sprinting to the library, in case Filch came around and asked her why she was sprinting in the school at 5:30 in the morning.

When she reached the library, no one was around and the chandeliers weren't lit, so Morgan waved her wand and muttered, "Lytano!"

When the candles flickered and the room was aloft with light, Morgan tucked her wand into her robes and began searching. Any books that she thought would be of use, she stored on a nearby desk. Then she found one book that caught her eyes, Liz Granger, A 2-Time Voldemort Survivor.

Morgan opened up the book. "Hmm..." Morgan said, "It says that Liz walked into Voldemort's path 2 times in her lifetime, but each time managed to escape. While Voldemort never tried the killing curse on her, she should be just as famous as Harry Potter, the boy who lived. Liz is a small-time heroine. However, she does have one small problem...she wears a necklace that is a half-peace sign which was given to her by her mother. It is a family heirloom that is passed down from mother to first daughter after finishing Hogwarts. Her mother was a Death-Eater and some say that she enchanted the necklace to be tracked...and some say that the other half is owned by none other than He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named..."

Morgan stared with fear at the page, "I know that necklace," she reminded herself, "It's mother's most prized possession...she's never taken it off a day I've known her. She said...Grandmother gave it to her after completing...school..."

When the Librarian walked into the room, Morgan jumped. It was already 7 o'clock.

"Oh," said the librarian, "It's you Morgan. Is there something I can help you with?"

"Uh," Morgan stuttered, "As a matter of fact, there is! Could you, uh, check this book out to me?"

"Will do!" the librarian said.

Morgan walked out of the Library clutching the book so tightly in her palm that her hands were sweating.

"Morgan!" Ginny panted, "I've been looking for you! Professor Dumbledore would like a chat with you." Ginny smiled, "He said it was important. Something like you shouldn't be roaming the halls at FIVE THIRTY in the morning..."

"Oh," Morgan muttered, more to herself than to Ginny, "Uh, thanks Ginny..."

"No problem!" Ginny replied.

By the time Morgan reached the front table in the Great Hall, Professor Dumbledore didn't look all too happy. "Ms. Granger," he said, "Filch has informed me that you were wandering the halls at 5:30 this morning? Is this true?"

"Why," Morgan stated, "yes it is. I wanted to get to the library for some important research."

"Really," Professor Dumbledore cocked his eyebrow at her, "and what exactly is this important research?"

"Oh..." Morgan fibbed, "Uh..it was some stuff for...uh..." Morgan couldn't come up with a proper statement, "I needed to know some information, and the library is the best place to do that!" Morgan smiled.

Professor Dumbledore stared into her eyes for a moment and then said, "Very well, but next time," he hinted, "Try to do it in daylight hours." Professor Dumbledore winked at her and then motioned for her to take a seat.

Morgan sat down next to Ginny and Hermione and tried to cover the fact that she had just been questioned by the Headmaster of Hogwarts and she had gotten away with no punishment.

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 11
« Reply #10 on: June 21, 2004, 04:41:35 PM »

For Elizabeth, who gave me the charactar traits of Morgan's mother.

And letting me use her name.  ;) Now, just hurry up and read...let me know what you think (you can post here too ya know!)

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 11

The next night was Quidditch Practice. Morgan sulked in the corner for quite some time, depressed that Harry was going to be extremely mad at her...and what if she didn't catch the snitch in the Gryffindor-Slytherin match in 2 weeks?

The pain hurt even more inside of her when she knew her mother was being tracked...and for some eery reason, Morgan thought that Lord Voldemort was watching her as well...

Morgan lie down in bed. She fell into a dream rather immediately. She was playing Quidditch, she was almost to the Snitch, she's almost there....

The dream quit. Suddenly, Morgan was in a dark cave. Morgan looked around, there didn't seem to be any way to exit. She was trapped. Then she saw it...there was a cloaked man, with beady red eyes boring into her.

"Wha...what do...y-you want...?" Morgan asked.

"Why," he whispered, "Why haven't you come to visit your dear old Grandad...ever?"

"W-who are you?" questioned Morgan.

"Who am I?" the cloaked figure repeated, "Why, I'm Tom, your grandfather."

"Is it Tom Marvelo Riddle?" asked Morgan.

"Yes," said Lord Voldemort, "I see you have done your research.

"G-get me out of here! Professor Dumbledore! Harry! Ron! Hermione! Mum! Dad! Somebody! Get me out of here!!!" screamed Morgan.

Morgan sat up. "Are you alright?" asked Beth, the girl who had been with her on the boat ride, "You were screaming for people...asking them to get you out of here..."

"Uh.." Morgan replied faintly, "Get Professor McGonagall! I need to speak with her!"

"Okay," said one of the girls. She ran off and came back in a few minutes with Professor McGonagall, who was in her night gown.

"Professor McGonagall, I need to speak with Professor Dumbledore, it' s an emergency...I just had a horrible...dream," Morgan recited.

"Can't it wait till morning, dearie?" asked Professor McGonagall.

"No, it has to be now!" Morgan shouted.

"Alright, alright...no need to shout. Come with me," Professor McGonagall motioned to the door.

Morgan followed her down the familair corridor towards Professor Dumbledore's office. When they reached the statues, Professor McGonagall said, "Frozen Butterbeer!"

As the staircase swung upward, Professor McGonagall lead her up the staircase.

They reached the doorway and Professor McGonagall used the knocker on the door. A few minutes later, Professor Dumbledore appeared, still in his regular robes.

"Albus," Professor McGonagall explained, "she's had a dream, she won't tell me what it is, but she wants to tell you about it."

"Thank you, Minerva," Professor Dumbledore said, "Morgan, please step inside. Oh, and Minerva?"

"Yes, Albus?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"Could you wake the other Miss Granger, Miss Weasley, Mr. Weasley, and Mr. Potter? Tell them what happened and bring them here as well." Professor Dumbledore requested.

"Very well," answered Professor McGonagall, and she walked off.

"Miss Granger, please, do sit down," requested Professor Dumbledore, "And tell me about your dream."

Professor Dumbledore took a seat behind his desk, and Morgan sat down on a chair in front of the desk, and began to tell her story, "Well, at first I was dreaming about Quidditch, I suppose it was because it was on my mind earlier this evening. Then, all of the sudden, I'm in a dark cave. I'm with a cloaked & masked figure and all I can see of him is dark red beady eyes. He says he's my Grandfather. And tells me his name is Tom Marvelo Riddle, or Lord Voldemort."

"Does he do anything to you, Miss Granger?" asked Professor Dumbledore.

"No," Morgan replied, "I woke up screaming, 'Get me out of here!' before he could do anything to me, I suppose..."

Professor Dumbledore nodded as the door creaked open...

Heh. Well if you need any help, let me know. It's best to come up with an outline/background or such for your character. On the backgrounds thread in the Great Hall, I created my character. Mad gave the comment that she'd like to know more about why my parents gave me a normal childhood, and I came up with the story of my life this way (I'm not truly a wizard, but I'm talking about my character's life). My friend Elizabeth heard about what I was doing and helped me with some tips and such. So I named the mom, Liz after her. And her personality pretty much fits the character.

Ideas are the best way to start. Before I started this fic, I came up with random ideas for what she was going to be and so forth like, she's the Granddaughter of Lord Voldemort without knowing it...and so forth... Get what I mean? Maybe that'll help you with your fic a little. You can always ask me for help of course, if you need any.  ;)

For Kelpie, who gave me the idea of a completely new character as Minister of Magic.

As I've said before, in this part Morgan continues to learn more about herself, and for some odd reason, she's constantly more like me...and Harry. Also, it's a short part, but it's important, and I can't find a way to lengthen it without giving too much away in one section...

Harry Potter and the Golden Snitch Girl - Part 12

Professor McGonagall stepped in, "I hope we're not interrupting anything, but I've brought Miss Granger, Miss Weasley, Mr. Weasley, and Mr. Potter."

"Oh no," replied Professor Dumbledore, "Minerva, thank you, you may go back to bed now."

"You're welcome, Albus," Professor McGonagall closed the door and they listened to her walk down the corridor.

"Miss Granger," Professor Dumbledore said, but as Hermione stepped forward eagerly, he said, "Morgan, you are experiencing the same as Harry was experiencing last year. Lord Voldemort," Ron winced and Professor Dumbledore looked up and then continued, "is using advance Legilimency to get into your mind, your dreams..and he knows you're there. So, I think you need to practice Occumlency with Professor Snape, just as Harry will be doing. Both of you will work together, under the same cover Harry had last year for your visits...the students are to think you are taking Remedial Potions."

"Okay," Harry and Morgan answered.

"All of you," Professor Dumbledore replied, "Are to not say one word about the Order's missions...is that understood? I assume that you have heard about the new Minister?"

Hermione nodded, Ron and Ginny pretended to know what he was talking about, and Harry kind of just stared. Morgan looked up at Professor Dumbledore, "Professor, could you tell us more about it, we've only heard bits and pieces," Morgan fibbed, "And it's rather confusing, and it'd be a lot easier to understand if someone were to actually tell us. Rather than us accidentally overhearing it and such..."

"Well," began Professor Dumbledore, "I guess so. Okay, as you've probably heard, Mr. Fudge, our current Minister of Magic is being overthrown. The public has discovered how he wouldn't believe the 'rubbish' last year about Lord Voldemort being back. He is being replaced by Ilga Yacht. She is a very brilliant witch, and is smart enough to know how to play to ways."

"What are you talking about?" asked Morgan.

"I'm not saying anything more, I've said enough," replied Professor Dumbledore, "Now, I will escort you back up to the portrait of the Fat Lady."

They walked up to the portrait silently, but once they were in the common room, they sat around in a circle and began to whisper.

Maybe... I don't know...when I plan on writing it I guess...maybe tonight as we have a 1 hour car ride and I'll probably take me notebook with me, because it's boring in the car.  ;)

it's hard to write in the car sometimes though, just cause of the condition of the roads...I remember when I used to do my homework on the way to school, LoL, half of it wasn't very ledgible!

I've been riding in a car since I was 2 weeks old. That was for 4 hours straight. I'm used to the bumps and such, since we drove/still drive on gravel roads all the time when I go to my grandparents house.

I have a soccer tryout tonight, it's half hour there,  and half hour back, and I always write in the car, so I'm used to it.  ;D

Thanks. I guess I shouldn't have called it tryouts...  ::) Because I've already made the team.  ;D They called me last week and wanted to know if I'd play with them, but they want me still to come and "help out" the other girls.  :D

Hopefully.  ;)

Thanks to both weasley_girl and Ro!

I've written the next part, I'll edit and post it tomorrow morning, as soon as I get a chance.  ;)
