Mad Libs Reloaded
« on: November 13, 2004, 03:19:03 AM »

Okay, we're going to do things a little differently this time. Mainly because I changed the way I organized this, but also partly because I want to make it a little more interactive. So, I now have a list of the types of words I need, but they are more-or-less sorted by nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. So, instead of making you give the next word in the list, I'm going to let people choose which word to give. Make sense? There are a few new rules to go with the new format also, so listen closely.

One: When giving names of characters, please give first and last names. This is just helpful to me.
Two: There is still only one word allowed per post, and no double posting. This is to insure that everyone gets a shot at the more interesting words ^_^
Three: As always, I reserve the right to tweak words to fit better with the grammar of my chosen piece.

For more details on how the mad-libs work, see the last mad-lib post, because I'm too lazy to copy it over to here, because it's late.

Also, I'd be happy to change it if you guys don't like the format. It'll mean scrapping the table I made and starting from scratch, but I'll do it if we run into any snags, which I suspect we might. Let me know what you think.

And, the moment you've all been waiting for, the listy list of list-ness!

We need:

Eight (8) Adjectives
Eight (8) Adverbs
Three (3) Names of Body Parts (I need hardly remind you to keep it G-rated)
Eight (8) Names of Characters
One (1) Article of Clothing
Two (2) Colors
One (1) Name of an Emotion or Expression
One (1) Greeting or Exclamation
One (1) Insult
Six (6) Singluar Nouns
Two (2) Numbers
Two (2) Places
Three (3) Plural Nouns
Five (5) Verbs ending in -ing
Thirteen (13) Past tense verbs
Seven (7) Verbs in the present tense
Logged
The quantity of consonants in the English language is constant. If omitted in one place, they turn up in another. When a Bostonian "pahks" his "cah," the lost r's migrate southwest, causing a Texan to "warsh" his car and invest in "erl wells."

name of character: Dymphna Furmage

(question, if we once give a name/verb/adjective...well whatever, are we allowed to still give from that category?)

[NOTE:  we need to take a little more care when updating the list.  Some things are staying on the list that have already been taken (1 greeting or exclamation showed up long after it should have) and some things got left off that were never done (7 characters disappeared early on).  I've gone through and done the math to put it all back in order, but we should be careful from here on.  It's particularly easy to mess up if you're just copying the old list and pasting it into your new reply.  The strikeouts don't show up in the paste, and it takes some concentration to go back and trace what's happened since the last update.]
