Ditto.  So I've been able to answer the phone several more times, and after several times (not sure how many) the voice on the other end stops talking at all.  I STILL can't figure out what to do with it, though.

Also, this may or may not be at all significant, but I watched really carefully when the main desk page loads, and all the port keys and books and phone and such are placed on the desk (although on the rolodex it's just words because the thing is already there) AND there were four (or two two-part) gum wrappers also placed there.  I have no idea if that's significant, and they'll become portkeys at some point, or movable or pick-up-able or what, but I thought I'd mention it.

How many heads do we have working on this right now?  ;)

Intriguing.  I've tried to watch that kind of thing, too, but to no avail.  On the "Other Stuff" portkey, along with the two dry erase boards, the pen on a string also comes down, but nothing happens when I try to click on it.

I don't think I've ever heard the phone ring, so I don't know what to do about that.  It may just be like the doorbell ringing and the radio going on:  just fun with a website.  The thing with JKR, though, is that you can never tell what's purposeful and what's just for fun.

TWO dry erase boards?  I've only found the one on the Extra Stuff page.  Where is the other one?

Forgive me, I haven't had a moment to myself in weeks.... :P

SIDE NOTE:  GrrrrFLGIT!  I was THISCLOSE to catching a fly with my wand (I know, I know, I was the one who talked about them only being mouse toys but I couldn't help myself), and it GOT AWAY!!!!!  I mean I was as close to it as this:

                                        MEfly

AAAAAHHHHRRRGGGGGGGG!
It took a good four minutes out of my lunch break.  So now I am redoubling my efforts to catch the stupid thing.

That's odd.  I see the two pieces of paper come down, and the mug, but the pen seems to be already there.  (And I can't make it move either.)

Of course, there are things that are already there that do move.  I think.  Isn't the "?" book on the links page already there?

Yes, it is.

Maybe it's just my computer and my slow connection that makes it look like the pen comes down along with the dry erase boards.

Susan, the one dry erase board is the one that all the "extra stuff" is on.  The other is the one that the eraser works on.  Sorry to confuse you.

(I really think they're just paper, and that the eraser is one of the kind Hermione got that's supposed to show hidden writing.)

Okay, so one of the things I got is, like, Ancient Drawings (Page 4), and another one is Doodles (page 2) or something like that.  So where are the others?  Pages 1 and 1-3?

I don't know where pages 1 and 3 are, Mad.  I only got pages 2 and 4 as well, but I'm plumb out of ideas as to where else to look.

Xan, the key in the library is behind the book with the ? on it.  You have to click and drag to move the book.  Use the key to open the locked box to the right.

Ooh ... thanks. I feel dumb. :p

Okay, I have the four things now ... coolness.

edit - This is probably pretty elementary, but the time on the watch there is the one on your comp's clock. So, change your comp time and the site time changes.

Thought that might be useful if there are time-sensitive cookies after all ...

But Cho, they give you some secret stuff just for nabbing the spider all by itself. Yes, I did get all four things and got another page, but there's got to be a reason there's a cauldron on that paper on the bulletin board. Hasn't there?

They give you stuff just for catching the spider?  What?  (It's the last thing I caught, so I thought it was just for all four.)

Ooooooh, they all go into a cauldron, right?  Well, where's the cauldron then??  Hmmmm.....

And Xan, THANKS!  How cool!  I should check that out!

Mad, you don't have to put them into a cauldron, just catch all 4 items and the certificate for your scrapbook should appear.

And ditto your question about getting stuff just for catching the spider:  It's the first thing I caught, and I didn't get anything special.....**pouts**

Me neither on the spider thing.  I didn't find (or need) a cauldron anywhere.

Jan, you got another page apart from the four things??  Do tell!!!!!  Just a hint, even.

[Edit:  I realized after I hit send that by "the four things," we could all be talking about different things.  The four things I was talking about having gotten were the four certificates in my scrapbook, NOT the four things that go into the cauldron.  Just to clarify...]

*sigh* I think the con I'm planning for has eaten my brain. I only have four things in my scrapbook. Perhaps (I've doen this on my work computer and on the one at home, so I've been through things twice) the second time I did this, I caught the spider last to activate the award. Ah well. I was really hoping for a cauldron and a chance to use that incantation. I guess the incantation will come later.

Look under the Ukraine in her book of publishers.  I'm convinced that's no company name, there.  :D

Hmm .. you're right. It's a bit weird for an incantation, though ... maybe a code?

About the pen: I didn't notice before, but it does come down. Doesn't do anything, though ...

It's weird. Why would a pen be hanging like that when she has a penholder? It's gotta be for something ... hmmm ...

edit -

Okay, about the publisher thing, perhaps I'm totally off-track, but this is what I got ...

A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA

can be converted to numbers ...

1 2+1 2+1 8+1 12+1 13+1 8+1

and if you convert the numbers back to letters, you get "accimni", which is more incantation-like, but means absolutely nothing as far as I can tell, but I'm bored, so I thought I'd share. :P

I've totally been sucked in! But I only find three things, not four! Is there ANYTHING at the question-mark link yet?

I entered the phone number, but nothing has happened quite yet. We'll see, I guess.

You tried the phone number and nothing happened??  That would be the fourth thing you're missing, then.  Are you sure you tried the right phone number?  62442?

Am I the last one to realize this?  62442 is the same number that you press in the phone booth to take you to the Ministry of Magic.

Also, someone said earlier that those numbers spell "Magic" on a regular telephone.

I put in the phone number, but nothing else happened, except that it ... well, reacted, but it's never rung or anything.

[edit] Oh, wait, there it went. I SWEAR I did it right the first time, but I guess not!

I don't know if anyone has already said this, but when you go to the fan sites section there are two coin medal things that have question marks on them. If you put them into their holders, then you get another certificate!

I can't get the spider! It's annoying me because it's the only thing I can't get!

Don't worry, Angelina.  It took me a while, too.

On the Fan Site page there's also an empty medal holder at the top, but there's no medal to fill it.  Do you think one might show up later or something?

Also, do you think the names on the trophies have any significance at all?  Bellatrix is on one, and the only one we never see all of starts with "Ha."  Has Harry gotten any trophies for the school yet?  Percy got Head Boy.  Does that get a trophy, though?
