*giggle* would they read it?

Hehe...they've read at least seventeen pages of mine so far...and it's got about as little to do with Harry as you could possibly get :)

Go ahead,

I suggest you

write in what would be considered "proper English" or people may not read it, or may have a hard time reading it.  Webisms give me a bit of a

headache, personally.  Also, if it's in the Harry Potter universe, feel free to post it here, in Flourish and Blotts.  If it's not, you might want to post it in the

Three Broomsticks, but maybe not.  I'd ask Ping what she'd prefer.  It's kind of borderline.

Anyone else have any potions ideas?  Draw on your

knowledge of chemistry, cooking, Latin, mythology, etc!  Invent your OWN potions.  Any ideas what made Lupin's Wolfs Bane so tricky to

brew?

just the right amount of wolfsbane to make him passive, but not so much that it would kill him.  :o

Shelly's Incredibly

Simple Personal Invented Potion For Filling Cauldron Cakes In Which The Consumer Turns Into A Giant Fruit Upon The Eating Of The Cake (otherwise

known as the SISPIPFFCCIWTCTIAGFUEOTC...):

Ingredients:
2 cups and 12 tablespoons milk (for edible-ness)
1/2 cup sugar (for

flavor)
2 cups flour (for thickness)
little itty bit of pixie dust (for something magical)
12 assorted fruits (For what you are going to turn

into)

Mix 2 cups milk, sugar and flour, making a sticky paste-y dough. Seperate it into a dozen different bowls. Make a small hole in each fruit

using a toothpick, and insert one or two grains of pixie dust in each. The fruit should glow. At this point, stick each fruit in its respective bowl and stir

quickly. The filling should glow faintly with the color that the fruit was. Add one tablespoon milk to each bowl, improving the texture of the filling.

Makes 12 cauldron cakes.

*nicks pixie dust from Mad when she's not

Hmm, I wonder if Snape's Werewolf Potion thing has to be brewed at a certain time, too. I'd guess not, because

normally that certain time is a full moon, which wouldn't do you any good for a werewolf, really, if it didn't keep for a month. *ponders*

Maybe you have to add

certain ingredients in the dark of the moon and brew them for a week.  Lupin was supposed to take the potion every day of the week before the full moon,

so that would make sense.

*shrugs* Ok, take my pixie

dust, it doesn't matter, because guess what I have?

*brings out a cage, the contents of which are fluttering around, scattering a thin flim of glittery

dust over the cage floor*

 ;D

And besides, thats only for that specific type of cauldron cake. I have dozens of other recipes.
****
And that does

make sense about the wolfsbane potion. If yuo had to stew something for a week at the no-moon phase before giving to the patient a week before the full

moon. Maybe one of the ingredients has to be picked at a full moon, and then dried for a month.

KM could do if for me  ;)]

The Wolfsbane potion probably

takes nearly the whole month to make, and all the ingredients have to be added in extremely specific ratios at extremely specific times in order for the

potion to be efficient. Probably, the werewolf will die if even the slightest thing is done incorrectly in the preparation of the potion.

Oooo,

pixiessssss! Shelly, where do you get those?

Bert Bots Everyflavor Beans
One batch of banana split flavour beans

What you'll nead:

200 grammes of dragon hide jelly
1 banana split
2 tablespoons of water
flour
3 tablespoon of caster sugar
1 shredded unicorn horn

Put the banana plit in blender until liquid. Add water and sugar and mix until the sugar is disolved. Put in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Add dragon hide jelly and shredded unicorn horn. Should become firm (unicorn horn does the trick). Put a bit of flour on wooden board and stick the jelly substance and flatten to 2 inches tall with rolling pin. Then, cut the jelly substance into jelly forms, put in oven at 300 F for 5 minutes. Take out and leave to cool.
Enjoy!

Cauldron Cupcakes

You'll nead:
300g of flour
150g of sugar
2 eggs
1/2 a pumpkin
1 mug of water
1 powdered scale of a dragon's stomack
1 mermaids hair (chopped up into the smallest possible)
1mg of dragon blood

Empty the half pumpkin, cut off the stem and ... Smooch into a paste (in a bowl). Add the flour, sugar, eggs and water and stir of 2 minutes. Add the mermaids hair  and stir until dissolved (it's very strange hair) and then put the powdered dragon scale in. After half an hour, add the dragon blood and the quickly put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Take out and put in greesed pan and then put it into the oven for 1 hour at 350 F. Once it's ready, take out of the oven and out of the pan and put it onto a plate. Then, cut them into 3inch squared. Now, take out your wand and thinking very hard of a cauldron, pronounce the words "Vader Cauradrana". And your little square will be shaped as a cauldron, at the size you were thinking of. So you can make microscopic, and gigantic cupcakes!

Crazy Crisps: See the Plotting Gryffindors thread for further info.

2 cups flour
4 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar
Water (amount will vary, it is only to get the thickness of the mixture right, but somewhere between 1/4 cup and 1 cup)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 cup powdered mermaid scales (OK, that sounds gross, but it's only a little bit, and they ARE cleaned, you know!)
4 Ground Red Cap claws (separated)
The following ingredients are optional, but you will probably want to add at least one of them to disguise the taste of the scales:
1/4 cup chocolate chips
one banana
1/3 cup powdered sugar
3/8 cups cherry juice
1/4 cup almonds

That's all I've experimented with that actually worked. I've tried other things that do some straaange things to the recipe. Whatever you do, do NOT add lemon juice. *shudder*

Anyways, now onto the actual procedure

Melt the butter over low heat. While it is melting,
mix the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, mermaid scales, eggs, and vanilla extract. When they are mixed, add the melted butter and stir, adding water along the way when it gets too thick to mix. The mixture should be thick enough to coat the spoon, but thin enough to pour. Heat the mixture directly over the fire. After 10 minutes, add one red cap claw and a quarter of any flavor you were adding. 10 minutes later, do the same thing, then again after another 10, and once more 10 minutes later. You should have added all the ingredients by now. Let the mixture sit and cool for 15 minutes. It should turn into a thick, sticky batter. Place quarter-sized dollops onto a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Let cool before serving, and only serve them to your enemies. ^_^

Sweets Sournade

400g of sugar
2 lemons
1 ounce of dragon liver
1 crunched up hoof of a unicorn
300g of flour
1ml of sulphuric acid

This is a very simple recipy. Just mix the sugar, dragon liver, unicorn hoof and flour. Then squeeze the lemon until there is no more juice left inside it and add to the mixture. Leave outside for 24 hours and then add the sulphuric acid. Then say "terminus bonbondus". It shall appear in an oval shape. I fyou would like to change it, just say "changeus formus" while thinking of the form you would like it to be. Then, to wrap the sweets in a quick way in multicolour wrappers, just say "envelopus bonbondus".

Chilled Butter Beer

1 pint vanilla ice cream
1/2 stick butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. of cinnamon
1 tsp. grated nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground clove
1 quart apple cider
Pixie Dust

Directions:  using a creaming charm, cream butter, sugar and spices together.  Imitating the world famous Chudley Cannons Beaters, beat in the vanilla ice cream.  Using a freezing spell, re-freeze the mixture.  Scoop out the frozen mixture into your favorite mug.  Pour hot Apple cider over the mixture.  Sprinkle with pixie dust and share with your house-mates!

Little Fuzzy Bears of which you don't want to know the ingredients

Well, you're going to know them anyway because he's the recipy

1cup of dragon hair dandruff (it will be hard to find but if you don't your fuzzy bears won't be that fuzzy)
3 cups of kelpie blood (noooooo, poor creature)
1 pound of cut up pieces of mermaids
5 ounces of dragon dung (you were wandering what that after taste was weren't you  ;))
10 cups of sugar
10 cups of water
1 cup of sulphuric acid

mix the acid, water, sugar, mermaid and kelpie blood. Stur well until your mixture becomes a very stange bright bubble gum pink colour. Add the dragon dung. Stur for 2 minutes.Divide the batter into 20 pieces and roll them up into little balls. Roll the dragon dandruff around them. Put a fizzy charm on them to give an extra kick "Fizzyarmus dungidus". Sounds strange but oddly satisfying. It will leave your tong fuzzy for hours!

I told you. It sounds bad but it actually good. Stop judging my poor little fuzzy bears of which you don't want to know the ingredients, even if you've never tasted them!(atleast mine are original!)

Here's another one!

Grandma Kelpie's (although she's not a grandma, not even a mother) chocolate cake

Ingredients:

5 bars of Grandma Kelpie's "Chocolate the way you want it" bars
500g of sugar (Grandma Kelpie is working on some, just wait)
500g of flour (she's working on that too)
1 basilisk egg
3 cups of water
1 ground up manticore claw (you're going to have to wait quite some time before you see Grandma Kelpie trying to go and get one of those)

Put the chocolate in a casserole and gradually add a cup of water. Once completely melted, mix the chocolate, the sugar, the flour the 2 cups of water left and the ground up manticore claw, in a bowl. The, position the basilisk egg straight (vertical, if that helps) in a different bowl and poor the chocolate batter on topcompletely recovering the basilisk egg so you can't even see it's there, just a basik chocolate cake. It kind of makes and Kinder Surprise Egg. Don't tell the person who cuts the cake that there is a basilisk egg inside. It's so much fun to see their face when they discover it. Put the cake into the oven at 500 degres, for 200 hours. Don't worry, when you take it out, the basilisk will be no more alive. And because of your magic chocolate and the ground up manticore claw have turned the baby basilisk into a chocolate basilisk, so you can eat every single part of the cake, even the shell. The shell will still look like the outside of a basilisk egg  ;D but it will actually be made out of sugar thanks to the manticore claw. Well, enjoy!

I know that it's strange, as I'm in hufflepuff, but I love potions. It's just like cooking, and I love cooking! Plus, it just seems...well, simple. Just follow the instructions.

Cookies of intelligence

350g flour
200g sugar
2 packs of grandma Kelpie's chocolate chips
3 eggs
2 cups of milk
1 ounce of dragon brain
1 ounce of manticore brain
1 ounce of sphinx brain
1 cL of mermaid blood
1 ounce of dragon hide
2 dragon eyes
1 Litre of pixi juice

Mix the flour, sugar, chocolate chips, eggs and milk together in a large bowl. Poor the mixture into a cauldron, and add the dragon, manitcore and sphinx brain. Mix well for 2 minutes. Then add the mermaid blood and dragon hide and dragon eyes. Mix for 33 seconds. Put the pixi juice in. Let simer for 15 minutes. If everything goes right, there should be a bit of silver smoke shimering over your cauldron. Your mix should be quite "batter"ish, so put on a tray in the shape of your choice (usually just balls to make normal cookies). Stick in the oven at 500 degrees celcius, for 5 hours. Take out. Once you've eaten the whole batch (you have to eat the whole batch for it to work), you'll be intelligent! It's just like magic!

Make your own remembrall!

Ingredients:
1 memory (just take it out of your head like you would for your pensieve)
1 Glass ball
300ml Dragon's blood
2 pinches powdered unicorn horn

Instructions:
1.Fill your cauldron halfway with water
2. Light a fire underneath your cauldron
3.When the water is near boiling point, put your glass ball in the water.
4. when the water is boiling, sprinkle your two pinches of powdered unicorn horn in the water and stir clockwise for 360 degrees, and then anti-clockwise for 90 degrees in this order.
5. Add your dragoon's blood a little bit at a time stirring clockwise all the time.
6. Leave to simmer for 5 minutes.
7. Extinguish fire.
8. Take a memory out of your head (using a wand, of course), and dip your wand in the water next to the glass ball.
9. Leave for 2 minutes.
10. Take glass ball out of the cauldron. If it turns red, you have forgotten to do something.

Your very own remembrall the cheap way!

Cupcakes of stupidity (as pranks to people you don't like)

1  mini pumpkin
200g of flour
1 cup of salt
1 cup of freshly sqeezed lemon juice (5 lemons)
1 cup of mocolate chip cookies (see Friends to fully appreciate that)
1 cup of gnome blood

Empty the mini pumpkin and cut off the stem. Then add the flour, salt, lemon juice and mocolate chip cookies. Stir for two whole minutes. Pour the gnome blood in and stir for 5 minutes (and not a second more or less). Poor the batter into individual little moulds, and stick them in the oven for 5 hour, at 25 degres fahrenheight. Take out, perform the nice little charm "stumpidiounta percusiounta". I made this recipy up just for Halloween, so when the anoying little children come knocking on your door and say "trick or treat", you'll  give them the trick!

How can drinking a dead pixie make you good? That potion makes me sad.  :'(

Therefore, I need a:

Happy Tonic

This is a remarkably simple potion. It works exactly like a cheering charm, but has a longer effect. You will need:

  • Milk: 1 cup
  • Sugar: 1/2 cup
  • Cinnamon: 1 tsp
  • Fairy dust: 1/4 tsp
  • Club Soda (A muggle drink much like soda pop but without any flavor. AKA Bubble water) 1/2 cup
  • Friends to help you make the potion (You may want to offer them some when you're done)
  • Anything you wish to add for flavoring, you must have 3 tablespoons of it in liquid form. Therefore, if you want a peanut flavored potion, you're going to have a hard time, so I suggest using a fruit juice.
In a medium sized cauldron, place the milk, club soda, cinnamon, and sugar over low heat until it is neither hot nor cold on the skin of your wrist. Add the fairy dust and stir counter-clockwise for one minute. The potion should turn a bright neon pink with some white smoke rising from it. Let sit over the fire about 10 minutes, until there are orange swirls appearing in the cauldron, then have your friends laugh with you as loudly as you all can for two full minutes. The more people, the stonger the effect. The potion will begin emitting sparks. Take it off the heat, pour into separate goblets and drink. The effect will wear off in 7-8 hours.

Hopeless at spells, but genius with potions? Well, we have the potion for you!

Invisibility potion

1L of water
3 sprinkles of pixie dust
A bit of what ever you would like to turn invisible

Pour the water in your cauldron (fire lit underneith), add the pixie dust. Then add a bit of what ever you would wish to turn invisible (hair, toe nails...). It's done! All you have to do now is make what ever you would like to turn invisible drink the potion (ex: if you want to become invisible, you can put one of your hairs in the potion, and then you drink it, and voila!).

Ingredients.
1 eye of newt
500ml of dragon bogey (ew!)
60 grams of crushed toads feet
and the secret ingredient: one bag of salt and vinager crisps!
Method.
Gently simmer the dragon bogey at gas mark 5 until black. Slice the eye of newt in to thin strips and add to the pan. Crush together the crisps and crushed toad feet and sprinkle into the pan. Leave for 40 minutes until it has turned into a nice bright orange goo.

Hmm....
This is a cheesy take-off from canary creams. I have come up with the idea for... wait for it ... snake sausages!
Serves 4 victims *ahem* customers
Ingredients:
4 sausages
Extract of snake skin
One scoop Beetles eyes
Sauce (any type: tomato, spicy, or if you're sickening, vanilla sauce. Or others)
Water

Method:
Light a fire underneath your cauldron.
Fill your cauldron with water and add the beetles eyes to the potion. Stir in the beetles eyes until they dissolve. Then add the snake skin and stir the potion 3 times clockwise. Leave to simmer for 2 mins, then dip each of your sausages in until they turn a green colour and start to hiss (don't worry, they turn back to normal after a while). Leave the sausages to turn back to their normal state and add a sauce to serve it with. If you have done this properly, your victim should turn into a half-human-snake-thing (don't worry, it's not poisinous-I think) and the effects should wear off in an hour.

Elixir of youth

This potion doesn't let you live forever, you still age, but you always look young. So, you will die of old age (let's say 87 or something), but you'll look incredible (think early 20 or so)

Ingredients:
-the blood from the head of a liondragon (aka Chinese Fireball dragon)
-vampire hairs (from the head)
-a plate of sandwiches which always refills itself
-1 bottle of butterbeer
-1 gallon of water
-human bones (2 minimum, 10 maximum)
-2 tsp of salt
-large solid gold cauldron

This potion must be done on a night where there is no moon.

Light a fire under your cauldron. Pour the water and salt into the cauldron. Leave until the water is boiled and there are bubbles at the surface of the water. Now, add the blood and the human bones. Once the bones have completely dissolved (takes about 10 min- 1 hour, depends on quality and quantity of the bones), add he vampire hair. Mix thurouly (sp???) for 2 minutes. Now, throw the plate of sandwiches into the cauldron. Stir well for 10 minutes. During that time, sandwiches will fall off the plate into the potion, dissolve, and all in all, it'll make the potion nice and thick. Now, th key ingredient: slowly poor the bottle of butterbeer into the cauldron. Once the bottle is entirely empty, quickly hurry away from the cauldron because the potion will provoke a small explosion, although none of the potion will spill out.
Now, if it is still night (dawn hasn't come yet), and there is no moon whatsoever in the sky, drink a large cup of the potion. At the beginning, you'll feel nothing, and then you'll feel violently ill. You'll have to stay in bed for a week. Once you've recovered, you'll be young and beautiful, forever.

*If this potion is drank after dawn or on a night where there is a moon, it may result in the fact of getting severe medical damages, or death.*

However, if you followed all of the instruction carefully and respected them, enjoy youth!

How to make Feline Lemonade!
« Reply #41 on: June 16, 2004, 11:57:40 AM »

Feline Lemonade

Object: Drink this and you will find you're a lot more braver! (Not that any Gryffindor's need it of course!)

5 pinches of slayed basilik's fang
1 lion's hair
2 drops of a Phoenix tears
1 squeezed lemon
1 cup of water
3 drops of your blood (and only yours, unless you want to look like someone else...but I wouldn't try it!)

Pour the cup of water into your cauldron. Add the lemon juice, but do not put the peelings in the cauldron!

Put in 2 drops of Phoenix tears, make sure that the steam coming up from the cauldron is yellow. If it's another colour of steam, empty the cauldron and start again.

Let it steam for 2 to 5 minutes, depending upon the size of your cauldron, small cauldrons take longer than larger ones. Stir clockwise for about 3 minutes.

Add 5 pinches of slayed basilik's fang. Do not stand near your cauldron after you add this. If the steam changes to the colour red, you may continue.

Add 3 drops of your blood. Use a small pocket knife to do this. Best to have a Phoenix nearby to heal you.

Lastly, add the Lion's hair. Steam should be orange, bottle this and cool for 2 hours at room temperature. Then you may drink, and feel brave!

*pulls out Lockhart's guide to cooking* Hmmm...maybe I could revise something in here...nothing good...

*pulls out her own home-made cookbook* Ah, yes, this one looks good!

Grilled Octopus

2 octopus legs (about 1 pound each)
1/2 cup unicorn blood
1/2 cup feline lemonade (see above)
4 purple pixie wings, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons minced fresh rosemary
1/2 teaspoon dried yarni (wild cousin to hippogriph) meat
1/8 teaspoon wizard sand

Place octopus legs in shallow dish (it may go over...). Combine remaining ingredients and mix well. Set aside 1/4 cup for basting; pour the rest over the octopus legs. Cover and put outside on full moon for 15 minutes max, or until octopus legs start howling.

Drain, discarding marinade. Grill octopus legs over a werewolf's eyes (they should be staring at the meat).

Then let the werewolf skin it. Be sure that he doesn't eat EVERYTHING though...

Then to cleanse it, put it in the solution of water with pixiedust mix.

Should have 4 servings, if the werewolf hasn't already ate it all...

Silence Potion

So, you either can't get the silencio charm to work or you aren't scary enough to hush an entire class? Give this to someone who just talks non-stop and they can't make a sound for 24 hours. (careful : use this only if you REALLY need it...and an overdose may cause the drinker to instead talk more than the usual...)

Ingredients:

1 cup of bees wings
1/2 cup of rats tails
2 tablespoons of honey
3 teaspoons of 24-Hour Non-Toxic Glue
1/5 cup of water

First, pour the honey & water into a bowl. Mix thoroughly.

Add the bees wings and rats tails. Beat until evenly mixed.

Add the glue, and stir with a cheap spoon (as you can't get the mixture off!)

Give the person you want to stop talking this potion. Don't go over the amounts listed, or else you'll have to handle with the overdose. Make sure they swallow it, or else they may choke...and we don't want you to be stuck taking them to the Healer's office!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hee hee...maybe I should try using this on my friends *evil grin*

Chocolate Buttons of Transformation

Take one of these chocolate buttons, and you'll be able to turn into as many people as you want to (but all in a limited amount of time). It's sort of like the Polyjuice potion, but it's much simpler, it's not painful, it's delicious, and you can turn into more than one person in the lasting time effects. Pretty much, it turns you into a shape-shifter for a bit.

500g of coco beans
1 carton of milk
1 pinch of sugar
1 sphinx tail
3 Augurey feathers
1 billywig
blood of a chimaera

Grind up the coco beans in a bowl, then add milk and sugar. Stir thorowly, until it resembles something like chocolate milk. Grate the Billywig, and add the shreds of it to the "chocolate milk". Stir until the choc. milk turns into a sort of paste. Pour the blood of the chimaera into the bowl, and then add the Augurey feathers. You can only mix after you've put the feathers, because if you just put the blood and start mixing straight away, it'll expload and kill you. Now, leave the paste on you windowsil, until the new moon (the recipy has to have been started before the new moon, but it doesn't matter if it's the quarter moon or the full moon or any time like that). When midnight strikes and the new moon is in the sky (if there are clouds or something covering the moon, you cannot finish the recipy that day). Now, add the sphinx tail. Pull the whole substance formula thing into the blender, and turn it on. Blend on volume 2 for 2 whole minutes. With the pasty stuff, make little chocolate balls and put them on a tray, which you will now put in the oven at 451 degres F, and leave in for 1h30. Now, take out. The chocolate balls will have turned into chocolate buttons.

You have one chocolate button at a time, and the effects will last for 23 hours.

5 points each to Kelpie and Morgan.  You guys must be studying for your O.W.L.s in potions.  Be careful of showing off too much, though, or Professor Snape may come in and take away some points.  Remember what he did to Hermione for answering too many questions in class.

I'm not showing off.  ;) I'm merely working on this brilliant potion that I came up with. Note that I'm just joking there. Truthfully, it probably needs a little work... ::)

How to make an Inivisibility Cloak

This potion will make you a cloak which will turn you invisible when you put it on. Use it wisely.

Ingredients:

1 cloak (size varies - usually depends upon what you plan on doing with the cloak.  ;) - make sure on the label it says "98% Demiguise pelt")
3 cups of unicorns hair
1 drop of everlasting apple essence
1 full unicorns horn
2 tablespoons of leprechauns gold
3 1/2 tablespoons of water

Lay the cloak in your cauldron.

Place the unicorns horn in the cauldron on top of the cloack and sprinkle around the leprechauns gold.

Pour in the unicorns blood and everlasting apple essence. Step back after you put in the essence, as it might give off flames for a minute or two.

Take the cauldron outside into fresh air and pour in the 3 1/2 tablespoons of water.

Let the potion set for 1 hour in fresh oxygen/nitrogen mix (air). Or until the potion has disolved and you are left with just the cloak.

I'm not bragging or anything, it's just I naturally enjoy making potions. My mom was a slytherin, I think I get it from her.

Potion of Truth

Is there ever a false rumour of you passing at work/school like wild fire, and nobody beleives you when you tell the truth? Don't depair, here's the answer. Just whip up this simple potion, and in one day, depending on what happened to you, everyone will find out the truth (and believe it), some way or another.

Ingredients:

1L of water
1 swan (whole, with feathers and everything)
1 horklump
3 pinches of doxie dust

Light a fire under your cauldron, and pour the water into it. Sprinkle 1 pinch of the doxie dust over the water, and leave simmer for 5 minutes. Put the horklump into the water, and stir until completely dissolved. Stick the swan into the potion, and leave it in for half an hour. Sprinkle the rest (2 pinches) of the doxie dust over the potion. Leave simmer one minute.
Now, drink one glass of the potion, and the truth will be unveiled, and your name cleaned.

I'm not bragging either. My friend Kaitlyn gave me the idea for this one, and when I showed it to her, she was like, "You've GOT to post that on Hogsmeade..." She still won't sign up though...  ::)

Blossoming Love

This potion will create a seed, and if you decide to plant the seed, you will find true love...

Ingredients:

1 package of Kwik-Growth Fertiliser
1 handful of dirt
1 clump of grass
1 flower blossom (this will be the blossom on your plant, so make it pretty!)
1 of your hairs from your head (head only!)
1 cup of unicorn blood
unlimited supply of water

Concoct the mixture by pouring the dirt, grass, blossom, hair and unicorn blood into your cauldron. Stir clockwise for 5 minutes consistantly.

Let it set out in fresh air for 2 hours, no more, no less.

Bring it back inside to room tempeture and let it set until there's nothing but a seed left in your cauldron.

When you have the seed, plant it somewhere where sunlight can get to it, plants can't grow in darkness you know!

Tend to it every day by giving it 1 cup of water & 1 cup of Kwik-Growth Fertiliser everyday until you have blossoms.

Once it's blossoming, take one blossom and cut it at a slant so you have a sharp point. Take the blossom and use the stem to write your full (first, middle, and last) name on the ground.

Step back and wait for a couple of minutes - patience now! Soon an & sign will appear, followed by some one elses name. Within 1 week, somehow you will meet this person...be ready, and remember the name!

*sneers* Excellent. Since neither Kelpie or Miss Granger could possibly be bragging, and their natural talent just drips off them in large, messy dollops, I'm sure they'll both remember what Jobberknoll feathers are for easily. I expect a different answer from each of you.

Why, Professor Snape. I would be pleased to private message you with the answer.  ;D

You've been more than eager to share your knowledge with the class thus far. You can now share your answer with everyone as well.

Thank you Professor Snape.

Jobberknoll feathers are used in Truth Serums and Memory Potions.

Is that what you wanted?

I believe I indicated one use for the feathers would suffice. Now you've left Kelpie with nothing to answer to.

*grimaces* You are correct, but I think it now appropriate to address your egregious error in using unicorn blood in anything. While unicorn hairs and horns are used commonly for magical purposes, only the most vile people would ever use the blood of a unicorn as a potion ingredient.

I believe it was Firenze the centaur who said, "It is a monstrous thing, to slay a unicorn. Only one who has nothing to lose, and everything to gain, would commit such a crime. The blood of a unicorn will keep you alive, even if you are an inch from death, but at a terrible price. You have slain something pure and defenseless to save yourself, and you will have but a half-life, a cursed life, from the moment the blood touches your lips."

I certainly hope you haven't imbibed any of your unicorn blood potions, Miss Granger. Living a cursed half-life sounds terribly unpleasant. 10 points from Gryffindor.

Kelpie, since Miss Granger stole your ability to correctly reply with something new, you can answer me this: Describe and then give one use for Bundimun.

Bundimun: Greenish fungus with eyes. An infestation of Bundimuns can destroy a house, as their secretions rot away the foundations. This same secretion, in diluted form, is used in some magical cleaning solutions.

*frowns* Anyone should know that. 2 points to Hufflepuff for being able to look information up on-line. But a word of warning, Kelpie, unicorn hoof is not a common potion ingredient. Stick with horns and hairs, both of which are shed regularly. You should know that by now, unless of course, our Care of Magical Creatures Professor never bothered to mention that.

I'm awfully sorry but where can I get any recipes for Wolfsbane Potion? I really need it for my RPG.
