This is a good plan in general. I try to have low expectations going into movies these days, and it seems to help. I suspect the same principle would apply to theme parks, too. :D

I figure if I set my expectations low enough, I would probably enjoy it.

That's exactly the experience I'm worried about having. I'm far too cheap, really, even when I don't have to be. :) But .... HP......

A good friend of mine went.  He said the shops were nice, and the castle was really cool, but overall, the experience wasn't worth the price.

Sirius Black, the Other White Critic? :D

Hmm, I wonder if the movie is still in any local theaters. I missed a big chunk of January to a stomach virus. (Not recommended, despite its excellence in the weight-loss area!)

Just a short response, but I wanted to chime in that I really loved the movie.  I'm honestly an AWFUL critic for HP movies though, because I would truthfully gobble up anything they toss out :)

Hmmm I think Slytherin would be fun to be in but if I was in any house other than Gryffindor Id feel left out as everyone loves Gryffindor and they can do no wrong.. well thats the impression I get.

Well there was apparently a begining sequence for the movie? That was one of the first results when you searched for ALIEN 5. It was acalled Landing Sequence or something simmilar to that.
