So the last article I read said there are only gonna be three rides. Does this mean the rest of it is going to be them trying to sell me things? Do I care? Hmmm.... *checks calendar for holes*

There have been commercials about the park on TV. Just saw one. I'm still curious to know more of the specifics. And what the entrance price is. *bounce*

Hmm, this article seems to imply a May opening, though I would probably be surprised if that was the case. But I'm a skeptic when it comes to construction of something ever being done on time. However, if it is done and open for the summer.... Cheesy

I recall the HP theme in the very beginning of the movie but not all the way through.  Yes, Dumbledore fell off the tower in the book, too.

Sirius, I actually liked the burning of the house scene.  I thought it accomplished a good purpose:  gave the sense of foreboding and gathering darkness/danger that, in the book, is accomplished with narrative but can't be captured in a movie as well.  The house-burning scene communicated that the stakes were serious and they're not safe.  I didn't consider that a serious plot modification.  I considered that an addition that captured the sense of the book and so, therefore, a good move.

But on the whole, I agree with Ping - the movie hits the major points of the book, so that works for me.

I could be talked into going to Orlando for this.  In fact, a couple of work friends and I *have* discussed it.  Not completely seriously, of course, but not completely joking, either....

I'm toying with trying an alternate version of it to try and crank out my screenplay finally. It wouldn't be the full version, since screenplays are a different animal. But ... I'm not sure if I will or not. Partly depends on whether or not I can figure out whether or not my police inspector is going to be at the climax or not. Not sure what he wants.

This link has some of the concept art. http://www.cinematical.com/2009/09/15/preview-2010s-wizarding-world-of-harry-potter-theme-park/

(I hope there is more than mostly just restaurants and shops, which is kind of what it looks like!) Smiley

Huh, so far the upgrade seems to have not broken anything major. That's good.

The non-magical explanation is that the site program handles the mobile display. Considering I haven't updated it in years, sounds like they started out with a good foundation.

I need to update the site to the latest version, but that always caused me such headaches that I'm terrified of doing it. But I think we're about 10 versions behind.
